Well I feel just plain ied raising the lever and now, at least, I do hear noise - pump, motor something, but the top doesn't raise.
65 T BIRD CONVERTIBLE HOW TO
There are all different kinds of information on how to raise it manually, but I'm hesitant to proceed.what is the correct way? Remove the 9/16 bolts at the 1:00 (driver side) position in the back wheel well on both sides? Go through the hassle of removing the seats? Am I correct in believing that the battery needs to be disconnected before touching any of the junk in the trunk? Where do I start? I may be low on knowledge, but I'm very determined to learn some of how to fix this beautiful car! So.as someone who knows practically nothing about repair work other than being my Dad's third arm for many years in his garage as he rebuilt 51-53 MG TD's.I need advice. Before taking it to the shop, my husband and I tested the convertible top with a battery charger and it worked. I drove it home last Friday and the work has only begun. It has been at a mechanics shop for nearly 2 years while a new engine was installed. I waited to save money and also to install a beautiful carport to protect it from further damage once the restoration was started. It sat on my driveway under tarps and somehow managed to survive rather well (except for the vinyl top) all the hail storms North Texas musters out year to year. That was at least 7 years ago and I promised him I would eventually restore it. It was not in running order.and I've since learned the block is cracked. Helped an older dear friend out of jams over the years and about a year before he passed, he gave me his "baby," a 1965 convertible.

I am new to this club and new to Thunderbird ownership (in a way).
